When it comes to repairing and recovering Windows systems, you have several options. You can try to use the built in Windows recovery tools which are average at best. Or you can use a third party USB recovery toolkit such as Medicat or NHV BOOT which offers a large variety of free tools that you can use all from one USB drive.
Since these repair toolkits have so many apps and tools in one place, you may want to check out more than one to see which one has the tools that will work best for you. In this article, we will be showing you the Bob Omb Modified Win10PEx64 USB toolkit. The Bob Omb toolkit is an older tool but still works great for modern systems running Windows 11. It can also be used on older systems that use MBR drives or do not require secure boot.
1. Download and Extract the Files
To use the Bob Omb Modified Win10PEx64 USB toolkit, you will first need to download it and create a bootable flash drive from the ISO file. Since there is not an official website for this toolkit, you will need to find a reputable site to download it from such as archive.org or filecr.com.
If you download the zip file version, you will have several files once you extract it. For most people, you will want to use the first option for UEFI and SecureBoot if you are running Windows 11.

2. Read the Provided Documentation
You can open the Readme.txt file to get more information about the tool. You will also find information here that tells you what you need to do if you plan on using this toolkit to reinstall Windows. You will need to add the Windows ISO file to your flash drive in a specific folder. Reading this document prevents frustrating installation errors later.
3. Run the Included Burn Tool
If you download the version that comes with BurnTool.exe in the Option #1 folder, you can use the Burn Tool to create your USB flash drive. Simply drag the Bob Omb ISO file directly onto the BurnTool.exe file itself to start the installation. This executes the formatting utility automatically.

4. Select Your Target Disk
Just be sure to choose the exact right disk when using the Burn Tool. All the data on that specific target drive will be wiped completely. Picking the wrong drive letter will instantly destroy your personal backups.

5. Boot the Rescue Environment
Now you can boot your PC with the Bob Omb USB flash drive as needed to repair and recover your Windows installation. There are many other tools included with this toolkit as you will see when you boot your computer with it. The Bob Omb toolkit will have a Windows 10 style desktop with a start menu and taskbar. You can click the start button and then go to All Programs and find all the tools broken down into specific categories.

Here are the main capabilities of the Bob Omb toolkit. There are several applications or tools within each category.
6. Data Protection and Recovery Tools
The Bob Omb toolkit includes powerful features for full system, disk, and partition backups. You can easily schedule automated system backups or run lost data recovery scans for PC, macOS, and Linux drives. The suite also provides advanced tools for the decryption of password protected files, ransomware encrypted file recovery, and secure file shredding.
7. Disk and Storage Management Options
You get access to advanced disk and partition conversion utilities right from the recovery desktop. This includes tools for MBR to GPT migration to support modern UEFI Secure Boot standards. You can also convert physical disks to VHD images, optimize performance through defragmentation, and format raw drives using the ReFS file system.
8. System Repair and Maintenance Apps
Administrators can execute deep malware, virus, and threat removal scans without booting the infected host operating system. The suite includes utilities to fix the boot configuration, edit the offline registry, and deploy clean Windows installations. You can easily bypass system locks, remove rogue syskeys, and restore corrupted device drivers.
9. Security and Access Services
Getting locked out of a computer is a massive headache. This toolkit provides utilities for immediate password resets and account unlocking. You can convert a locked Microsoft cloud account directly into an accessible local account. The software bypasses login passwords entirely and recovers lost product keys with printable text reports.
10. Networking and Remote Access
You do not have to work blindly without internet access. The bootable environment includes Wi-Fi network discovery and signal scanning capabilities. You can utilize advanced IP device discovery tools, launch Telnet or SSH sessions, and connect to remote FTP clients. It also supports secure remote desktop access to control mounted drives from anywhere.
11. Hardware Diagnostics and Stress Testing
You can physically test failing computers using full hardware diagnostics and burn in testing tools. The environment includes dedicated CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage benchmarking applications. This lets you monitor temperature, voltage, and sensor data in real time. You also gain full RAID and advanced storage controller support.
12. System Internals and Advanced Administration
Advanced technicians can dig into raw system data using the included hex editors and low level binary analysis tools. You can debug active EXE and DLL files directly from the safe recovery environment. The suite handles duplicate file detection, deep memory inspection, and active directory object analysis.
13. Bootable Environment Capabilities
This fully portable Windows PE environment supports modern hardware configurations including PCs, servers, and modern Macs. It comes preloaded with DirectX 12 support and the full .NET Framework stack. You also get an integrated Java Runtime environment alongside native PowerShell support for advanced command line scripting.
14. Create a Multiboot Drive with Ventoy
When it comes to using these types of USB toolkits, it is best to try out several different ones to find which one works the best for you. You can easily use a tool such as Ventoy to create a massive flash drive that contains multiple toolkits. This allows you to launch different rescue environments independently from a single USB stick.
