If you have some videos file that have maybe some live music or something similar and you want to extract the audio from the video, that is not something you can do using any built in Windows tools. Sure, you can try something like playing the video while recording the software with some other method or even a microphone but that is not very practical.
Fortunately, this can be done for free with a third party application. In this article, we will be showing you how to extract audio from video files in bulk using the free Convert Video to Audio software. They do have a pay for version that has additional features such as the ability to change audio settings and can also be used for commercial purposes. You can download the software from their website here. They have a version that you can install that will create an icon on your start menu. Or you can download the standalone version that does not require anything to be installed on your computer.
The Convert Video to Audio software is very easy to use and all you need to do is drag and drop your video files into the main window of the program. You can also add them by clicking on the Add File button and browsing to their location. You can also click the Add Folder button to add a folder that contains all the videos you want to extract the audio from.
You can then click on the dropdown button next to Profile to choose the format you want to use for your extracted audio files. As you can see, there are many options to choose from such as MP3, FLAC, WAV and M4A. If you need to extract audio using different formats, you will need to run the process separately for each type of audio file you want to save.
The icon with the hammer and wrench is used to change the audio settings for the files before they are converted to audio. This feature is not available in the free version even though you can still view the settings. Here you can change the bitrate, bitrate control, sampling rate and audio channels. If you have any special FFmpeg parameters you wish to use, you can enter that here as well. FFmpeg parameters are options that control how FFmpeg processes multimedia files, specifying tasks like format conversion, encoding, decoding, filtering, and output settings.
Once you have everything ready to go, simply click on the Convert button to have the audio extracted from your video files. The software will extract the audio from all the files in the list without you needing to do it one at a time.
Then you can go to the destination folder to view your new audio files. The original source videos will not be affected in any way.
