Gmail is one of the most popular email services in use today. It is owned by Google who of course have many other free online apps you can use such as Google Docs, Drive and Photos. Once you have a free Google account, you can use that same account to access and manage all of these other applications.
Even though Gmail is widely used, many people still think it lacks some basic features that are found in many other email applications or services. Fortunately, there are many companies that make add-ons for Gmail that can be used to enhance its functionality. In this article, we will be discussing the Copilot for Gmail email, notes, attachments & reminders add-on. One thing to be aware of is that this add-on is not related to the Microsoft Copilot AI tool but only shares the name.
To install the Copilot for Gmail add-on, you can go to this website and install it as an extension in your web browser. It will work fine in Chrome and in Edge but may not be available for other popular browsers.
After the extension has been installed, you will see the CloudHQ Copilot button on the sidebar within the Gmail interface.
The best way to use Copilot for Gmail is to open an existing email and it will then present you with information about that person and show you all your interactions in one place. As you can see in the image below, the add-on is broken down into several sections or categories.
Notes
You can add notes for a specific contact so that each time you use Copilot for Gmail to view that person, these notes will show up. You can only have one Note but can add or remove notes from it as needed.
Reminders
If you want to send yourself a reminder related to a specific person, you can do so from here. Simply type in the reminder text and choose a date and time for the reminder to occur and click the Set Reminder button.
The reminder will come in the form of an email that will arrive in your inbox at the date and time you set for that reminder. It will contain the email address of the person the reminder is about and also include the text that you configured when setting up the reminder.
Attachments
Copilot for Gmail will show you all the attachments that are in any emails from that particular person. It will also show the date, time and size of that attachment. You can then click on an attachment to open it in your browser if it’s a supported file type. If it is not, then you will have the option to download the attachment to your computer so you can open it from a supported application.
Email Preview
Copilot for Gmail will also show you a listing of the email conversations between you and your contacts. When you click on a particular email, it will pop out to the side and show you the conversation thread. You can then click the Read more link to have the entire email open in a new window.
