These days, most of us have at least one email address, if not multiple email accounts with different services such as Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud Mail and so on. Gmail is one of the most popular email services, with over 1.2 billion users worldwide. If you have a Google account for things such as YouTube, Docs, Sheets and so on, you also have a Gmail account.

Even though Gmail is very popular, many people complain that it lacks features that should be there for such a popular email platform. Fortunately, there are third party add-ons and extensions you can use to enhance the functionality of Gmail like the one we will be discussing today. In this article, we will be showing you how to add clickable buttons that point to website URLs in Gmail emails.

To add these clickable buttons to Gmail emails, we will be using a free extension called Gmail Button by cloudHQ. To install the extension, all you need to do is open the browser that you use with Gmail and go to this page here.

Depending on your browser, you will have a button that says something like Get or Add to Chrome. You will then need to agree to the permissions and then click the button to add the extension to your web browser.

Once the extension has been installed, you can open your Gmail page and click on the Compose button to start a new email.

Next to the Send button, you will see a new icon that you can click on to add a button to your email. There is also an option to add a table if you want to check out that feature as well.

You will then be able to add the text that will be shown on the button as well as the website address\URL that will be linked to this button. Over at the left, you can change the background color, text color and border color for the button. You can also change the border size and radius (roundness) for the button. To make sure the button is working properly, you can click on the button preview to open the website that is linked to it before sending out your email.
