Microsoft Word is the most popular word processing application in use today. It’s widely used by home users and businesses alike. And even though Word was created by Microsoft for Windows, there is even a macOS version as well.
Even though Word has advanced features, when it comes to adding a calendar to your document, you might find it a bit limited. In this article, we will be showing you how to insert an editable calendar into a Microsoft Word document.
To add a calendar to Word, there are several ways to go about it. You can go to the File tab and then to the Templates section and search for a calendar that suits your needs. Most of the calendars here should allow you to click within a specific day and then type text as needed.
Another option is to insert a calendar image from a file. You can go online and do an image search for calendars and then copy and paste one into your document or download the image and add it to your document from the Insert > Image option. But if you want to add events to your calendar, you will need to insert text boxes to do so. Then you have to worry about formatting the text box and changing the alignment so they are on top of your image rather than in line with it like regular text would be.
One great way to insert an editable calendar into a Microsoft Word document is to download a custom calendar from the Calendar Labs website. They offer many calendars for a variety of applications and events. There is even a section specifically for Word calendars which you can go to here.
Once you find the Word calendar section, you will have some options to download a calendar or customize it first. Some of the customization options require you to make an account with the Calendar Labs website such as the add your own event choice. If you want a calendar for only one month for example, you can configure it here. Otherwise you will end up with 12 pages of calendars which may not be what you want.
Once you have selected your options, click on the Create Word Calendar button to download your calendar template. Now you can open your newly created calendar in Word and start adding events to it as needed. You can click on any particular day and add text and images and format them just like any other text.
Calendar Labs also has calendars for other Office applications such as OneNote and Excel.
