PSAPI.DLL
Here you will find questions and answers to common troubleshooting topics.
I purchased software to fix an Explorer problem, it didn't work. My PC keeps popping up a Explorer.EXE window that says "The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL”. What can I do to fix this problem?
This error can be caused by having multiple versions of the psapi.dll file on your computer. There should only be one in the Windows\System32 folder. Try these steps to rename any other instances of the psapi.dll file on your computer.
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the root of the C drive.
2. Search for PSAPI.DLL.
3. Rename all extra versions of PSAPI.DLL files found except the one located in \Windows\System32\ folder to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL
4. Restart your computer.
You may also want to run the Windows System File Checker Checker to make sure you have the correct version of psapi.dll in your system32 folder.
